NetBook Screen Resolution 1024x768 or Higer with out Scrolling

NetBook Screen Resolution of 1024X768 or Higher The Squeeze

HP Mini 110

Netbook fake resolution

NRC Download Direct link has been added to this post ... I know it was difficult to find before so I have it on my server ... Shhhh don't tell anyone ok ;)

So from the previous post you learned how to change Windows XP native on the NetBook to produce 1024x768 resolutions but you had to scroll around the screen to utilize the new resolution.

For an easy way to do this on Windows 7 follow me here

This resolution setting of 1024 by 768 or higer should work on any NetBook with the following video chipset:
-Intel G35, G33, G31, G965, GM965, 945G/GM, 915G/GM chipsets with GMA driver 14.25.50 or later.

Aspire One 1024X768 *Tested and works
Dell Inspiron Mini 1024X768
IBM Lenovo Netbook 1024X768
MSI Wind or U series 1024X768
Samsung 1024X768

If you have a NetBook with the Nvidia Ion chipset I am not sure this will help you. But if I get one that has the Ion chip set I will definitely test it out and or find a resolution for it.

****READ through the whole post before trying this ******

This post will show you how to change the resolution with out scrolling or panning on the HP Mini 1000 series NetBook and I'm sure other brands of NetBook. Producing a very usable 1024X768 resolution on your NetBook just a bit squoozen (lol is that a word???)

Here we go...

What you need is .... The NetBook

And a program called NRC "Netbook Resolution Customizer Beta2 at the time of writing" This can be downloaded from the link above. It is also under the name of AsTray Plus??

Or I have a direct Link here on my server for NRC 1.0 Beta 2 for you...

Download the program and extract it to where ever you want it to run from your HP Mini. I chose my desktop.

On the first run it will take you to the Settings for NRC program. I placed my default resolution in there for the HP Mini 1000 series NetBook the native resolution is 1024x576 at 60 Hertz.

This will set up the NRC config file. Which is also editable using notepad if you know what you are doing.

I set mine not to start with Windows due to the fact that I have not been able to get all of the functions of the program to work perfectly just yet.

Here are the Modeline's I used for the HP Mini 1154NR yours may differ or you can try these.

Modeline 1 for standard resolution for the HP Mini 1000
"1024X576_60.00" 47.00 1024 1064 1168 1312 567 577 580 597 -HSync +Vsync

Modeline 2 for 1024X768 resolution on the NetBook
"1024X768_60.00" 64.11 1024 1080 1184 1344 768 769 772 795 -Hsync +Vsync

Here are the settings for the Quick Switch I set up but they only work from going from standard to Large for some reason I can't get back to the standard 1024X576 resolution of the HP Mini 1154NR / 1151NR.

After your settings are saved in NRC Beta2 it will minimize down to your tray
click on the Quick Switch ... Large and Voila you should now have a Squished 1024X768 on your NetBook with no Panning or Scrolling...

If you want here is the NRC config file I use just click on the link and save as

*** The only way I have found to get back to native resolution at this time is to reboot the NetBook like I said I have not been able to work through all of the kinks of the program yet ... and it may just be that the program is a Beta not final release yet ****

Stay tuned for the Video

tk's f d setting bro,,, IT WORKS... i use to use regedit for enable display_downscaling on windows 7,, but i confused in xp,, i've tried the NRC but i can make it work,, cuase i dont hav the modlines,,

Shouldn't that read "1024X768_60" rather than "1204X768_60"?

Modeline 2 for 1024X768 resolution on the NetBook

"1204X768_60.00" 64.11 1024 1080 1184 1344 768 769 772 795 -Hsync +Vsync

is it possible to use a larger 16:9 resolutions instead of 1024x768? so it looks less squoozen?

I'm not sure if you can get the resolutions you want but if you can find the proper mod lines that would work for say

1366X768
or
1280X720

you might get what you are looking for .. My main goal was to get some interactive tutorials to work as well as Citrix MetaFrame.

how about the modlines of 1024x600? is that same with 1024x576?

Hi there thank you very much for the tip, but can someone tell me if theres any chance to put the 1024x768 with 32 bit color without scrolling because when i try to do that the monitor scrolls

for netbook asus eee pc??/modeline number??

Hello, All!

Thanks for your effort, but this didn't work on my HP Mini 210. However, downloading and installing the Intel GMA 3150 software for Windows 7 from Intel's website DID "git 'er done" - or perhaps it just helped to make the Windows 8 registry hacks for this problem work. Who knows?
