Apple iTune's The Beatles Now On iTunes

As posted yesterday iTunes Announcement was to be spectacular and a day you would not forget.

MEH!...

Don't get me wrong I truly enjoy the Beatles music I grew up with it playing in the background of my child hood. But to have it on iTunes MEH! as I have said before..

To be honest if I really wanted their music all the time I would purchace the box set.

But, hey for some it may be important

BTW
TechCrunch was correct in the article they posted here.

Speculations on what will be announced are all over the map from

iOS 4.2 from iTunes

TV rental Model addition to iTunes
North Carolina's data center game plans
Something Big Global in size???

TechCrunch posted a similarity to Photo of the Beatles.... and the rumor of iTune's getting the Beatles albums.

I really like the Technology that Apple comes out with consistently, but come on Apple

Tomorrow is just another day.

That you'll never forget.

In My Opinion anything they come out with will not be that memorable ..

Unfortunately the arrogance of Apple and most other Corporate America ideals of what they say in public announcements will change your life forever..

This will not be that memorable of a moment .... as say

President Kennedy was assassinated on November 22, 1963 while on a trip to Dallas, Texas.

On September 25th, Sandra Day O'Connor was sworn in as the first female judge on the Supreme Court. Mrs. O'Connor had been nominated by President Reagan.

January 28, 1986 Seventy three seconds after blast-off, the shuttle Challenger exploded and killed all seven astronauts on board. The explosion was the greatest loss ever for the American space program, and was later blamed on faulty o-rings in the booster rocket.

December 19, 1998 Bill Clinton, President of the United States, was impeached by the House of Representatives

Yes Apple you got right it Tomorrow is just another day in history....

Bad CraigsList Deal of the Day "Mac PowerBook 1500$"

I am all for Apple products holding their value very well they are in a sense like Honda's and Toyota's. They just hold a better resale value. But when I see something like this it just ..... well you decide..

Mind you the Mac PowerBook model was last manufactured on October 19th 2005 over 5 years ago.

Apple TV Will Not Replace My Mac Mini (Not Yet?)

Hacking The Apple TV

Last night I braved a 3 hour trip in the cold and wet to go 25 miles to pick up my first Apple TV. It is the First Gen Apple TV with the 40GB hard drive and it was cheap (tis the only reason I did it).

My intentions and reasoning behind getting the Apple TV is to replace a Mac Mini I have hooked up to our entertainment system where we house all of our media files (ie. music, videos, access to Hulu and....) as well as the (gasp) Windows Media Center system we also have setup in another room.

This being the first time I have gotten my hot little hands on Apples multi-media center I had to set up the Apple TV and play with it in a vanilla state.

Needles to say I was relatively unimpressed.

Set up was easy (after figuring out that my receiver only has one optical input currently being used by the DVR) component (red, blue, green) out
and stereo out (red, white). Plug it in to the wall and it fires right up. Setting up the shared music from the iMac homework machine was as simple as typing in a 5 numerical code and we were jamming to all of our music saved on the iMac.

Ok great music is one thing, but I need my videos. The Apple TV comes with native support to play videos from your iTunes shares and if you are familiar with Front Row on the Apple Mac platform the Apple TV is second nature and easy to use. But it is limited to playing only Apple Format (QuickTime) *.m4v. ***Not Good***

A good amount of our Video files are in Divx and Xvid format (backup's of our DVD collection) its much easier than finding the DVD if you have it stored on a hard drive somewhere.

I almost never (he, he, he, ... :) ) impulse buy. I do my research before I venture out especially with "new to me" technology like the Apple TV.

Enter in atvusb-creator These guys have written all of the code for you to create a Linux Based flash drive that will be boot up your Apple TV and add #SSH support install Boxee, and XBMC.

After downloading the program on my MacBook Pro mounting the .dmg and running the program letting it create the usb flash on my MicroCenter 4GB flash drive. I installed it in to the Apple TV all of about 10 Min of work.

Installed Boxee (Requires a log in... but its free) told Boxee where all of my videos were stored on the network and in about 10 min (Boxee had to search my drives) I was up and in digital bliss, Video Heaven. Now the Apple TV is looking more promising..

Here is the rub though, after playing with the Xvid and Divx content on the Apple TV I wanted more. Online TV like Hulu* *not on boxee anymore* Fancast (and the likes) have the new TV shows I do not have time to watch at normal hours and the DVR is sucked up by the girls in the house with all of the episodes of Desperate House Wives, Bachelor, Bacheloret, and all of those DRAMA crap shows. (LOL wife is going to love me for that one)

So Fired up the TV section of Boxee selected one of my favorite shows to watch NCIS, on the Apple TV...

And BAM Boxee error back to the main launcher...

Tried it again, this time it started to play and I could hear the dialog but the video was super slllloooooowwwwww..... Did not try the standard def on the Apple TV but by this time it was almost 1 a.m. and I did have to go to work in the morning. So for now .. the rest will have to wait....

So in my mind .. maybe the iMac and the Windows Media Center will have to stay..

Stay tuned for more indepth info on Boxee and the atvusb-creator ... when I get and if I get the chance

Go play with them see what you think.

CraigsList Business Listing, "Get it Right!!!" PowerMac G5

Ok so maybe I'm getting more cranky as I advance in years. But come on If you are a Business and you are listing on CraigsList ... which by the way is not what its set up for. But that's a whole different article...

Make sure your post's are correct so there is no confusion.

Listed here is a PowerMac G5 if you know anything about the Apple PowerMac G5's then you know they came in a Dual Processor or Single Processor configuration with the IBM PowerPc G5 CPU at the heart of the machine.

So What is Wrong with this ad???? (names dates and listing id has be blurred out for anonymity would hate for some one to do that to me.. and as I figure do unto others as...)

If you are confused as to why I'm ranting (you probably are not alone.. :) ) but a Dual Core Processor would denote Intel's Dual Core or Core Duo or Core 2 Duo Processor configuration..

This is very different in the Apple World especially when you are talking about running their operating systems and running applications from Adobe.

OS X Leopard 10.5.xx will run on the G5 IBM PowerPC platform (and lower processors like the G4 as well)

And you can run OS X Leopard 10.5.xx on the Intel Core Duo or a Dual Core processor from Intel..

But the big distinction here is Snow Leopard OS X 10.6.xx This will not run on any thing less than an Intel processor. (unless you are talking a hackintosh OSX86)

As Well Adobe After Effects CS4 is also not able to be run on the G5 (and below) Processor platforms either...

** end of rant *** Still "whats wrong with this picture????"

Powerball ticket $128.6 million the winning ticket Dilema

Way off topic here but Struck me as ???

Filed Under "What would you do?"

"Michigan Lottery officials announced Sunday that the winner of the $128.6 million prize bought the lucky ticket ahead of Saturday's drawing at the Uptown Bookstore in Highland Park, an economically depressed enclave of Detroit.

Under the store's sign, there are neon signs advertising the store specializes in adult entertainment and carries the latest XXX adult movies."

So here is the dilemma every one knows that folks go in these types of stores with the hopes of a little anonymity. But this person will have none.. But would you let 128.6 million go to waste so that you were not embarrassed? Ya can't hide something like that.

"A lottery ticket purchased at an adult bookstore in Highland Park, Michigan is the sole winner of the nearly $129 million Powerball jackpot."
