Some types of Spec Sheets are not published
The HP web site publishes specification sheets for all notebook models built with a predefined hardware configuration. For example, a major outlet store may order and sell several thousand notebooks with the same specifications. However, the HP web site does not publish specification sheets for models that can be configured with custom components by the customer at the time of purchase. These models are identified as Configured To Order (CTO) models. The order form that ships in the box with the computer contains a list of the custom components the customer specified, and component information is stored electronically on the computer.
As an example, a notebook model that is designated as a "CTO model" can be ordered with either an Intel or an AMD Central Processing Unit (CPU). These CPUs are available with different processing speeds (e.g. 1.2 GHz, 1.8 GHz, 2.1 GHz, etc.), and processing configurations (e.g. MMX, Dual Core, Quad Core, etc.). Each of these CPUs requires a different set of Basic Input Output System (BIOS) instructions to operate the computer. Also, several different hard drive sizes (60 GB, 120 GB, 160 GB, etc.) and different optical disk drives (CD, DVD, BluRay, LightScribe, etc.) may be available. Because the CTO model that you purchased may have any one of these or other key components, HP cannot publish a specification sheet that will cover every combination. However, information on the installed components is stored electronically on the computer.
